Business aviation remains one of the fastest-growing segments of the Russian market. For the first time in the six years of its history, Russia’s only dedicated bizav convention JetExpo has brought its exhibition floor and static display together at the Vnikovo-3 business aviation center.
The organizers say the move will provide greater comfort to exhibitors and visitors: unlike the static aircraft, which have always been displayed at Vnukovo, the JetExpo exhibition hall used to be hosted at Crocus Expo some 35 km away.
This year’s event proves that Russian business aviation is beginning to recover from the crisis of 2009-10. There are 30 static aircraft on display - 12 more than last year and six more than there were in pre-crisis 2008. The overall number of exhibitors is 75, up on last year’s 53 though still fewer than the 91 companies that were exhibiting back in 2008.
The JetExpo organizers point out that the exhibition significantly boost Russia’s prestige on the global bizav scene, giving foreign companies a chance to network with potential local customers and partners.
