Transaero to train own engineering personnel

Transaero Airlines’ aviation training center got certified in February to conduct practical training of Boeing 737 Classic and NG engineers and technicians. The rating of the center’s EASA Part 147 was expanded following an audit inspection.
In late March 2015, the Transaero center is planning to host another audit inspection with the aim of further expanding the Part 147 rating to cover theoretical and practical training of Boeing 747 technical staff.
The carrier says the recent rating expansion was part of the on-going program to streamline performance and enhance efficiency. In-house training of technical personnel will save the airline money that would otherwise be spent on foreign specialists. Transaero, Russian second largest carrier, currently operates 47 Boeing 737 Classic/NG airliners and 20 Boeing 747-400s.
Transaero obtained the original EASA Part 147 certificate in June 2012 г. At that point, the carrier already held the right to conduct theoretical conversion training for personnel tasked with servicing various Boeing types under approved programs. In May 2013, the certificate was expanded after an EASA audit.
