UTair maintenance facility in Ufa gets EASA approval

Ural Aviation Services, a maintenance organization, part of UTair group, received EASA approval for nearly entire range of its operations, including line maintenance, up to A-check, of all Boeing 737 modifications, as well as maintenance and repairs of wheels, brakes and batteries. EASA also confirmed the non-destructive control methods used by the company comply with the European standards.
Ural Aviation Services’ facilities of round 10,000 sq. m are based at Ufa International Airport. The hangar, rented from the government of Bashkortostan, holds two Boeing 737 type aircraft at a time, with round-the-clock operations. The company plans to double the number of serviced aircraft. UTair management also announced it intended to seek EASA certification for Ural Aviation Services to perform C-Checks. UTair’s other maintenance facilities in Surgut and Tyumen are dedicated entirely to line maintenance of the existing fleet of 737s, which is set to grow. Until 2018 UTair is taking delivery of 40 new Boeing 737-800/900s.
Ural Aviation Services was approved by the Bermuda aviation regulators in August 2013 as OTAR 145. The company crated more than 90 jobs, and will increase the number of staff to 200-300 specialists.
