UTair signs with AgustaWestland

A new service center agreement between UTair and AgustaWestland will see the Russian air carrier become an authorized provider of support and maintenance for the AW139 fleet across Russia. UTair is already an AW139 operator with its own fleet of 10 aircraft, but the new agreement is a "major milestone," for the company says UTair Engineering CEO Rashid Faradzhaev. "UTair is already the biggest helicopter maintenance provider in Russia and this is a considerable step in our development.
AgustaWestland CEO Daniele Romiti told Show Observer that there was a fleet of 35 AW139s operating in Russia today. "This new agreement takes effect immediately and expands on our two existing service centers to give us a presence much closer to Siberia – which is prime operating territory for our helicopters."
