Wetsuit Amphora in action
During the Army 2016 forum the water cluster testing area in Alabino hosts the dynamic display of weapons and special equipment of the Navy. One of the points of the program is to demonstrate the Amphora diving equipment for combat swimmers in action, reported the Defense Ministry. As part of the demonstration program combat swimmers will debark into the water from high-speed boats with the task to destroy outposts of an imaginary enemy, conduct reconnaissance of the passes and blow up the mine obstacle. Amphora complex is equipped with a rebreather, capable of operating in a closed (to prevent gas bubbles release on the water surface during an exhalation) and semi-closed circuits. It is located on the chest, while an oxygen mixture bottle may be attached to the leg, on the front or back of the apparatus.
Amphora complex also consists of a suit, a diving knife, a flashlight, a compass, flippers and underwater acoustic wireless communications. It also includes an underwater bullet-proof vest Corsair-B with the fourth degree of protection (can withstand shots of underwater firearms and Kalashnikov rifle on the land). Complex weight - about 50 kg. Using it a soldier can dive to depths of up to 40 m, and operate at temperatures from 0 to 35 degrees while under water for several hours.
